School has ended, and summer is here! What a great time to get outdoors and enjoy the natural world together! Join members of the Green Mountain Bird Alliance as they guide participating families in search of the many birds that call the Intervale home.
This bird walk is designed with young learners in mind. Oftentimes, bird walks are long, start in the wee hours of the morning, and require silent walking, which is not so easy for younger learners. This will be a fun way to include the youngest bird enthusiasts in a more casual outing! We will have extra binoculars and birding guides on hand. This walk will take place along the mostly flat terrain on the Winooski River floodplain.
This free program is recommended for ages seven and up with accompanying adults. Registration is required. Please be sure to register every person in your group attending the program, both children and adults. Registration will be limited to twenty participants to ensure an enjoyable experience for all. Registration for this event will open on June 20, 2026.
We will meet in front of the red-brick house at the Intervale Center, 180 Intervale Road, in Burlington.
